Old Glendale Bridge

The original Glendale Bridge across Deep Creek Lake was a two-span, petit truss, steel bridge. Although it was determined to be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places by the Maryland Historical Trust in November 1991, sadly, it was demolished in 1992. Being only wide enough for one vehicle at a time, you often had to wait to make the crossing. This may have been cumbersome for some, but for me, as a child and a teenager, it was a nice moment to pause and look out at the lake.
