The Alpine Pass Route crosses central Switzerland, forming a diagonal, 340 kilometer, undulating belt from Sargans on the border of Lichtenstein to Montreux on Lake Geneva. I hiked this trail in the early fall of 2002 when the snow had receded to all but the highest glaciers, however I couldn’t help imagining what this trip could be like as a mid-winter ski adventure.
